After eight years in the Navy, and four years as a SAHM, in 2008 I went back to school full time. I started in early childhood education, it is a passion of mine. I held lofty Waldorf goals, and hoped to one day teach in a Waldorf school.
Unfortunately, I realized that as much as I love education, at the time it would just not fit my families needs. With two young children and a husband in the military I just could not shape it to fit our frequent moves and hectic lives.
I stumbled into massage therapy in 2009 and it was a life changing experience. I began that journey at the Cortiva campus, in Tucson, Az. It was an amazing time in my life, what massage therapy can do for a persons whole being is just incredible.
After my marriage fell off its wheels, I decided to go back to school and finish my degree. I am currently working towards my BA in Social Work. I am excited at the chance to purse a professional degree and help make other peoples lives better.
Some of my other joy's are photography, food, hiking, yoga, swimming, music, reading, and camping. I like to be outdoors and do not mind getting dirty. I believe it is important to provide enriching life experiences for my children and have found that exploring our own town can be just as exciting as big fancy vacations. A walk through the the neighborhood or a stroll at the rim of the grand canyon all kids really want is your time, patience, and attention.
I have two boys, 12 year old Chavi and 8 year old J-Bird. While I would love more its just not in the cards for me.
Chavi is my quiet one, his loves in life are, scootering, riding his bike, Lego's, swimming, arts/crafts, and books. He likes to watch classic Godzilla, Dr. Who, Classic Star Trek, and documentaries about prehistoric creatures.
J-Bird is my wild child, from the moment his eyes open he never stops. He loves playing with his Thomas trains & Matchbox cars, being outside, PBS Kids, and getting one of us to read to him. He also loves all things tye dye!
